One-on-One Parenting Consultations

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Orange County offers confidential, strengths-based, one-on-one parenting consultations for parents, caregivers, grandparents, kinship caregivers, and others in a parenting role. These consultations are designed to help families navigate parenting challenges, strengthen relationships, and connect with research-based resources and practical strategies.

What to Expect

Individual consultations are 60 minutes and are available virtually or in person, when available. Parenting consultations provide education, coaching, support, and referrals tailored to each family's needs.

Topics may include:

• Navigating common parenting challenges
• Strengthening parent-child relationships
• Building practical parenting strategies
• Connecting with research-based resources
• Identifying appropriate community services and referrals

Fees

• Standard fee: $125 per 60-minute session
• Sliding scale: $45–$125 per session, based on household income and financial circumstances
• Fee waivers are available for individuals and families experiencing financial hardship. No one will be turned away because of an inability to pay.

Appointments must be scheduled in advance, and payment is due prior to the consultation unless other arrangements have been made. Sliding-scale requests and fee waivers can be discussed confidentially during registration.

Scope of Services

Parenting consultations are intended to provide education, coaching, support, and referrals. They are not therapy, counseling, crisis intervention, legal advice, or medical services. If a concern would be better addressed by another provider, CCE Orange County can help connect you with appropriate community resources.

Our goal is to make high-quality, research-based parenting support accessible to families while providing practical tools and resources that can be used in everyday life.
