NYS Influencer Program We are thrilled to introduce the brand new 4-H Influencers Program (formerly Media Corp)! New York 4-H Influencers is a new state level communications leadership program based on the Illinois 4-H Influencer project. High school aged youth will receive university-level social media management training AND get hands-on experiences and portfolio pieces for college and internship applications as they get to try a social media career on for size. This program is a collaboration between NYS 4-H, Cornell Cooperative Extension Communications, and youth. The program will begin and end on March 1st, each year, starting in 2025. Youth can participate more than one year, but must re-apply each year.

This program is for youth who are passionate about social media and communications and want to help promote all of the amazing things happening in NYS 4-H. Youth will have to opportunity to watch trends and create eye-catching content.

Youth that are selected are committing to the following:

  • Attendance of Career Explorations, June 25-27, 2025 at Cornell
  • Attendance of the NYS Fair, several days between August 20-September 1, 2025 in Syracuse, NY
  • Attendance of monthly virtual meetings, starting in March
  • Attendance of other 4-H events of the youth's choosing

Scholarships may be available to help offset the cost to attend Career Ex and the NYS Fair.

Enrolled 4-H youth ages 14-19 are invited to apply! Applications are now open will close February 26th, 2025 at 8pm.

The NYS 4-H Dog Advisory, in collaboration with the State 4-H Animal Science staff, is excited to announce the 2025 March Dog Madness! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, March 8th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $25, which includes lunch and materials.

Dairy Discovery Workshop The annual Dairy Discovery program provides New York youth with fun, hands-on science-oriented learning experiences in dairy production and management topics that feature the unique facilities, industry professionals, and staff at Cornell University.

The statewide program for youth ages 14 to 19 years-old is held one Saturday in March. Youth learn will understand, observe and participate in technical skill training by rotating through a series of hands-on stations that focus on specific aspects of the dairy industry.
