FALL NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT!

LOCATE 10 ITEMS.  TAKE A PICTURE AND SEND TO THE OFFICE KAL64@CORNELL.EDU

FIRST 3 ENTERIES WILL RECIEVE A PRIZE

Nature Scavenger Hunt List:

1.A Feather

Look for different sizes or colors; try to identify the bird species.

2.Animal Tracks

Find tracks in mud or dirt; try to identify the animal.

3.A Pinecone

Search for a fresh or opened pinecone, noting its shape and texture.

4.A Smooth Rock

Locate a polished stone or rock smoothed by water or weather.

5.A Flower in Bloom

Find a wildflower or garden bloom.

6.An Interesting Leaf

Look for leaves with unique shapes, textures, or colors. Bonus points for identifying the tree!

7.A Bug or Insect

Capture a photo of an insect and identify its species.

8.A Bird's Nest

From a safe distance, find a bird’s nest; note its size and materials used.

9.A Fallen Branch

A small branch or twig, noting how it might have broken off.

10.Moss or Lichen

Find moss growing on rocks or trees; look for different types of lichen on bark or stone.

11.An Acorn or Seed Pod

Search for acorns, seed pods, or nuts from local trees.

12.Animal Fur

Look for tufts of fur caught on fences, branches, or brush.

13.A Spider Web

Safely find a web; take note of its intricate design.

14.A Y-shaped Stick

Hunt for a stick with a distinctive "Y" shape.

15.A Smooth or Rough Tree Bark

Feel the bark of different trees, identifying their texture.

16.Bird

Listen closely and identify or describe a bird call or song you hear.

17.A Hole in a Tree

Look for natural tree cavities that could be homes for wildlife.

18.A Cloud Shaped Like Something

Use your imagination to spot clouds that resemble objects, animals, or shapes.

19.A Body of Water

Spot a pond, stream, or puddle; look for signs of aquatic life nearby.

20.Something Red in Nature

Find something naturally red, like berries, flowers, or leaves.
