4-H Project Idea of the Month
MARCH IS FOR HANDS
Spring planting projects prepare 4-H youth in essential life skills that can include responsibility, patience, and problem-solving. Gardening encourages hands-on learning, connecting young people to nature while fostering an understanding of plant biology, ecosystems, and sustainability. These projects also promote healthy living through growing nutritious foods and provide opportunities for creative expression and community service. Ultimately, spring planting helps youth develop resilience, environmental stewardship, and a sense of accomplishment all key components of 4-H's mission to empower young leaders.
Youth can keep journals, take photographs, and present their findings to their clubs and/or enter as fair projects.
