Join your child for a FREE, fun 30-minute cooking and nutrition workshop to kick off your day at The Country Fair! Then take your child into a Farmer’s Market designed just for them with their hard earned “Market Sprouts Cash.”
Our team of nutritionists will welcome your child and family into the “Market Sprouts” tent where we will use games, math, and Market Sprouts Cash to practice choosing, cooking, and shopping for fruits and vegetables. SNAP-Ed Nutritionists will teach these important life skills in an engaging way before kids “shop” at the Market Sprouts Farmer’s Market to practice what they learned, while selecting fruits and veggies they want to take home with simple, low-cost recipes to cook together.
Sessions will be available as follows:
Pease note, each session is limited to 30 youth participants.
The Market Sprouts program will take place in the Kosuga Barn during The Country Fair at the Education Center & 4-H Park located at 300 Finchville Turnpike in Otisville, NY. Please arrive a few minutes in advance of your preferred time so that we can be sure to complete the workshop and "shopping" in the Market Sprouts Farmer's Market within your timeslot.
