4H Livestock Program

Welcome to the 4H Livestock Program! This program focuses on a broad range of livestock, including chickens, goats, sheep, cows and swine, with the ability to concentrate on particular species. Participants learn valuable life skills, such as public speaking and animal care, while engaging in educational programs and activities. Annual activities include monthly educational meetings, field trips, the 4H Livestock Sale, the 4H County Fair at the Education Center and 4H Park, and state-wide and national programs.

This program will help you learn about the selection, production, management, health, and showing of dairy animals.

4-H Goat Program

The Dairy and Meaty Goat project is designed to help youth develop to their fullest potential as they learn the care and management of a dairy and meat animals.

4-H Poultry Program

The program will help you learn about chickens from the egg to the table. Get involved in embryology, growing and managing a small flock of chickens.

4-H Rabbit & Cavy Program

Lessons include all aspects of rabbit management and the science behind it.

4-H Sheep Program

A sheep project is particularly well adapted to the rural family home with a small plot of land or even to homes with large yards in suburban areas that permit animals.

NYS 4-H Virtual Dairy Bowl Practices

New York State 4-H will be hosting Virtual Diary Bowl Practices!

Join youth from across the state on Thursdays in January & February from 7:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and participate in virtual dairy bowl practices. These practices are hosted by the NYS 4-H Dairy Committee.
