Exploration Through Food, Body, and Movement is an engaging, hands-on program for Orange County 4-H youth ages 8–12. Across three sessions, youth will explore the connections between food, health, movement, nature, and community while building practical skills they can use in everyday life.
Participants will learn about food systems, nutrition and cooking, and movement and mindfulness through fun, experiential activities. Youth will explore how food is grown and produced, learn to read and understand food labels, practice mindful eating, prepare healthy foods, and discover the benefits of physical activity and spending time outdoors.
The program encourages youth to try new foods and activities, build confidence, and develop healthy-living skills they can share with their families. By exploring food systems holistically, participants will also discover how health, the environment, the economy, and community are all connected.
