Introduction to Commercial Maple Sugar Production

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County in partnership with the Cornell Maple Program for an introduction to this fun activity and business opportunity led by Aaron Wightman, New York's statewide maple specialist and Director of the Arnot Forest Maple Research Lab at Cornell University.

This 3-hour course will cover everything you need to know to make, sell, and enjoy your own maple syrup including the science of maple sap flow, how to tap trees, sap collection options, how to process sap into high-quality syrup, and more!

The class will include presentations, hands-on exercises, and a live demonstration of maple cream production.
