This program is free and open to all youth ages 8-14.
We will spend some time learning about ticks and then do Tick Blitz!
What is a Tick Blitz?
We will be joining citizen scientists around the Hudson Valley collecting ticks
in order to gain a better understanding of where different tick species are
present and to track the northward expansion of two tick species that have
recently been found in New York.
Participants are asked to wear long pants, socks, and closed toed shoes. While doing our tick survey participants will be asked to tuck their pants into their socks.
Upon arrival at the park, participants will need to complete a COVID-19 Risk Waiver and health questionnaire to participate.
This program is a part of Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County's 4-H Programming.
Registration closes: Monday, June 14th!
Spots are limited.
If you have any questions, please call our 4-H Natural Resource Educator Susan Ndiaye at (845) 344-1234 (ext. 250) or email her at sgn32@cornell.edu.
