Growing and Selecting Flowers for Floral Arrangements

  • Tuesday, May 11, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

If you love being able to cut flowers from your own garden to create flower arrangements, then this program is for you. Join Master Gardener Volunteer Gerda Krogslund and learn what plants – annuals, perennials and shrubs – have ideal blooms for cut flower arrangements. Then learn how to cut and “condition” flowers so that your arrangements will last longer. Finally look at examples of beautiful arrangements that everyone can do and watch Gerda as she demonstrates how to create a beautiful arrangement using flowers from her own garden.

Your instructor, Senior Master Gardener Volunteer Gerda Krogslund, retired in 2003 from her career as a high-school math teacher and has been serving the gardening community since 2005. When she is not teaching gardening workshops, Gerda uses her teaching skills to help her grandchildren with their online education.
