This online course is for land owners as well as any person who is interested in a career in forestry or forest-related businesses. The course will introduce the organizations and agencies involved in forest management in New York, cover tax incentive programs, provide information regarding forest management plans, and give you an overview of timber valuation. Agriculture opportunities within forests will also be discussed. Finally, this course will provide an overview of forest health and dynamics and relation to wildlife. Erik Schellenberg (Commercial Horticulture and Natural Resources Educator) and Jason Detzel (Livestock Production Educator) will be the course instructors.
