NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's SPDES General Permit for Stormwater Discharges from Construction Activity GP-0-15-0002 specifies that developers, contractors and subcontractors shall have one trained contractor from their company that will be responsible for implementation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP's), and have at least one trained contractor on site on a daily basis when soil disturbing activities are being performed. These trained contractor representatives must receive 4 hours of training in the principles and practices of erosion and sediment control endorsed by NYSDEC, SWCD or CPESC, Inc. every three years. This 4-hour workshop will satisfy the trained contractor representative training requirement as specified in this general permit.
Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a NYS DEC Stormwater Training Number on a certificate and wallet card good for 3 years.
