The 4-H dairy program has set up a unique opportunity for youth to learn about dairy farming called DAIRY EXPLORERS. Any youth ages 5-18 can participate. Everyone will get hands on experience in farming!
Some experiences that we offer are feeding the calves, watching a cow be milked, machinery safety, and the best one, showing a calf! Youth will be separated into groups and are able to "adopt a calf" (You will not have to take her home, we promise). You will be able to learn all about her, brush her, give her a bath, and the highlight of the program is showing her at the 4-H Showcase! This class also will educate youth on dairy products and their importance.
During one class we will make ice cream!
The cost of the program is $25 per youth. To sign up please contact DeAnna at 845-344-1234 or ds2285@cornell.edu
This program will be hosted by Sprucegate Holsteins in Walden.
