Learn the history of archery, safety on the range, equipment, proper shooting form and technique, and to make some form of archery tack. The primary goals of the program are to help youth demonstrate safety and concern for others, exercise discipline while achieving goals, and connect to their natural environment.

Classes are for middle school and high school age youth (open to 4-H and non-4-H members).  Classes will be on Thursdays, from April 25 through June 20.

4-H Youth Development programs use experiential learning to help youth gain life skills and positive outcomes in the four areas of:

  • MASTERY of subject matter interests,
  • BELONGING to groups of positive peers and adults,
  • INDEPENDENCE from confidence gained and,
  • GENEROSITY as they contribute to their communities

Participating youth will have opportunity to experience growth in these areas as they learn then demonstrate:

  • Understanding of the history of archery
  • Understanding of safety on the range
  • Understanding of archery range equipment
  • Proper shooting form and technique
  • How to select and maintain equipment
  • How to make some form of archery tack

The primary goals of the program are to help youth demonstrate safety and concern for others, exercise discipline while achieving goals, and connect to their natural environment.
