Capture the artful ways of nature by casting some of its leafy treasures in concrete (especially those beautiful hosta leaves). These "sculptures" preserve the graceful shapes, intricate vein patterns and curving margins of the leaves. Concrete leaf castings are beautiful, inexpensive and fun to make. You can display them as decorative garden accents, use them as a surface for holding birdseed; or as a gift for a special friend. Best of all, the casting weathers elegantly, softening around the edges to become more picturesque with age. We provide a great selection of leaves and all the materials you'll need. Your leaf casting will cure for seven days, and then, one week later, you'll return to "unmold" your creation, clean it and paint it if you choose.

Cost: $25/person; $22.50 for Gardening in Orange County (GOC) subscribers. Space is limited to 12 participants, so please register early to avoid disappointment. Sorry, no refunds, if you can't attend please send someone in your place.
