2026 Create a Hypertufa Planter

Oct 03, 2026, 10:00am - 12:00pm

Old stone containers make wonderful planters, but they are heavy (and difficult to find)! Hypertufa is a lighter weight man-made, stone-like material created from natural materials that can be fashioned into all sorts of containers and objects. In this class, you will make a hypertufa planter to take home with you. You will also be given instructions on how to prepare the correct soil mixture for this special type of planter, and we will show you what kind of plants will thrive in your hypertufa planter once it is “cured.” Please wear old work clothes and bring waterproof garden gloves to use when mixing and handling cement. You must be able to work standing up. We recommend you bring a tarp, large plastic bag, or large cardboard box to use for transporting your hypertufa planter home. Registration closes: Friday, September 25th. Registration is limited to the first 25 people.Sorry, no refunds. If you can’t attend, please send someone in your place.
