Youth Immersion: Strengthening Organizations through Youth Development

Workshop Criteria and Objectives

Participating agencies will provide a diverse team of 3 or 4 representatives to participate in the initiative. Recommended grouping is: a board member, an administrator or middle manager, a direct service line staff person, and a youth.

The team will attend a one-day introductory workshop that will address the following topics as a means of organizational commitment to Youth Involvement in decision and policy making;

• Youth Development
• Organizational Self-Assessment
• Personnel Practices
• Youth Engagement
• Action Planning for Organizational Engagement of Youth at the Highest Levels.

Teams will reconvene after 90 days to examine action plan progress, obstacles, new strategies and success stories; plan long-range strategies that sustain the initiative and strengthen the organization.
