How do you fit healthy snacks into your day and still manage your diabetes?

When it comes to snacking, people often think of foods that are high in sugar or added fats but you have many other options.

  • Many of us choose chips, cookies, pretzels, or fast foods for snacking however, the added fat, sodium and sugars can be problematic for your health.
  • Fruit, precut veggies, low fat yogurt, and cheese are great snacks.
  • Snacks will give you the energy boost you need while curbing hunger.
  • Portion sizes are important, use measuring cups and spoons.
  • Stock up on healthy snacks, and pack them to go, to avoid unhealthy options.
