Cornell Cooperative Extension Does NOT Do:
Mushroom ID
Snake ID
Spider ID
Feces ID
On the spot diagnosis, samples must be submitted to lab.

Lab results will be mailed to consumer in approximately ten business days. All samples will be discarded unless otherwise noted.

PLANTS:

Cost: $7.00 per sample for diagnosis and recommendations.

Use the 2-part White Form, in-house.

Submit the good, the bad, and the ugly, but not the brown and the dead!

More than one leaf, several leaves connected to branch showing a good representation of the problem progressing.

INSECTS:

Cost: $7.00 per sample for diagnosis and recommendations.

Use the 2-part White Form, in-house.

Bring in more than one, if possible, enclosed in a crush-proof container with a tight fitting lid. No envelopes or zip lock bags. If sample is mailed - it must be crush-proof. We have containers here.

LAWN:

Cost: $7.00 per sample for diagnosis and recommendations.

Use the 2-part White Form, in-house.

Include a 6" square that is 3" deep showing ½ healthy and ½ problem, but NOT DEAD.

SOIL pH TEST:

Cost: $5.00 per sample for diagnosis and recommendations.

Use the Teal pH Form, in-house.

With a trowel, go to several sections in the area to be tested. Take a slice 3 - 6" deep from each section. Mix it together to make one sample. Use a tool, not your hands. Dry soil thoroughly (do not use a microwave.)

If there is a problem area collect two samples for comparison; one from good area, one from bad area.
One Cup of soil for pH testing.

SOIL NUTRIENT TEST: 
Sample sent to AgroOne Lab in Ithaca, NY. Turn around time is approx. 2 weeks. Results will be mailed. Cost: Pre-planting and maintenance - $17 per sample Additional tests available. For more information contact the MG Helpline at 845-343-0664 or email mghelpline@cornell.edu.

TICKS:

Cost:$5.00 per sample for identification.

Use the 2-part White Form, in-house.

Ticks brought in for identification will NOT be identified while you wait. However, priority will be given to sample. Fill out appropriate forms and submit sample to lab. Leave a daytime phone number and you will be called with the results.
