Milk and dairy products are New York state’s top agricultural commodity! Do you want to learn more about where milk comes from and see the cows that make it, right here in our county?

Orange County 4-H is hosting a 6-week Dairy Explorers program starting Thursday, June 22ndh through July 20th from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.

The program will be hosted by two local Orange County dairy farms: Stap Dairy in Pine Bush, NY for two weeks and Spruce Gate Holsteins in Walden, NY for three weeks.  The final session is July 29th at The Country Fair in Otisville (time TBA).

Youth will be able to 

• See the farms
• Learn about how farmers take care of their cows
• Do fun crafts and activities
• Groom and show a calf at the Country Fair on July 29th!

Cost is $25, and there are 20 spots available. 

The suggested age range for the program is 8-12, but any youth 8-18 are welcome.
