WPS Respirator Fit Test and Training

Fittings and medical evaluations required to meet 2017 EPA Worker Protection Standard regulations will take place at the Hudson River Health Care Clinic.

Required training for respirator use and WPS Worker & Handler trainings will also be offered in conjunction with the fittings so you and everyone requiring these trainings and fittings can receive everything all in one stop. Everything will be offered in English & Spanish to meet requirements. The schedule is still being developed but we are aware of the busy nature of a farm and will expedite all of these activities as much as possible. Plan that everything will take 3 hours from start-to-finish. If you do not need to stay for WPS training for workers & handlers, the time will be shorter.

You will be assigned a fit test, medical appointment and training times after registration. Each worker is required to complete the medical questionnaire before they arrive to expedite medical evaluations.

These are private forms that each worker should fill out in private and keep to themselves until they arrive for the medical evaluation. If workers need help, medical staff from the Alamo/HRHC are available to assist. For assistance in filling out the medical questionnaire, call Alamo Community Center at 845-651-4272.

Requirements for test:

Take any medicines you normally would, especially for blood pressure. Clean shaven.

Bring the respirator(s) you use.

No eating, drinking, smoking, or chewing gum 15 minutes before the test.

You may also bring additional workers who will not be using respirators who may need WPS Worker/Handler training. They may attend the WPS trainings for free. Let us know how many workers you may bring to that training so we can plan accordingly.
