Join us for this great introductory program to get you started with keeping your own backyard flock of poultry. They are fun, entertaining animals that provide fresh eggs and meat. In addition, your poultry will help control ticks and produce beneficial fertilizer for your garden. Cost per person is $15, or $10 for 2017 enrolled members of our Agriculture Program (children 12 and under free with an adult). Please call Jill DeBlock at 845-344-1234 to register. 

This program will offer an overview to flock management with emphasis on: pasturing flocks of poultry, management of the poultry house, selecting hens for production, common diseases of the small flock, feeding and nutrition of poultry.
